It’s a subject that we rarely hear about, but at Boracay Brokers we have asked ourselves: what is the women role in the insurance industry?

As stated in the Report Estamos Seguros, from the Spanish Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Entities (UNESPA), there are currently more women than men working in this sector, making up more than 55% of the contracts.

Insurance is one of the areas in Spain in where more has been invested in equality of jobs.

And what about women in management positions?

One of seven insurance managers is a woman. As there are more and more women who manage to reach management positions, there is also a greater impulse to continue going down this path.

Without a doubt, there is still much to be done. Although there are more women in management positions in this industry, equality is still a long way off.

However, these optimistic data give us good hope for what may become in the future. It’s everyone’s task to continue promoting equal opportunities.
